 How much will the visit cost if I have no insurance?

There is a range of costs for the office visit depending on the complexity of the medical problem.

Do you take my insurance?

We participate with most insurance carriers.

Do you accept the Connecticut Health Exchange insurances?

Yes we do. We participate with all of them.

How long will I have to wait to be seen?

We try our best to make sure that every patient is seen in under an hour.

How do I know whether I should be going to an urgent care center or the emergency room?

Come to urgent care for most non- life threatening illnesses or immediate care health concerns. If your ailment is life threatening, you should go to the emergency room or call 911 immediately. For a list of what we service at our AFC Urgent Care Centers, click here.

Do you provide seasonal flu vaccinations?

Yes, we do.

When is the best time to get the flu shot? 

The ideal time to get your flu shot is October and November. Sooner than that and you may risk getting the flu at the end of flu season, or have to get a second flu vaccine. This is especially important for the elderly.

Can you do sports and camp physicals for my children?

Yes, we can. No appointment is needed. Just come in on a walk-in basis, and we’ll perform the sports or camp physical. If there’s a required form, please bring that with you.

Do you treat STDs?

Yes, we do. And rest assured that we treat your medical information with a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.

How much does a  a typical visit cost?

For insured patients,we collect your deductible and/or your co-pay at the time of service, and then bill your insurer for you. After your insurer sends an EOB (explanation of benefits) to us, will bill you for any balance still due.

Our staff will discuss any other recommended other treatment or services,(such as an x-ray or a lab test)with you.

If I have insurance, will I get a bill after my visit?

Our fees are fixed, but the amount that your insurance company covers depends on your specific plan, coverage and deductible. After your insurer produces an EOB (explanation of benefits), if there is a balance due, we will bill you for the remaining balance.

Can I get a discount?

Our rates are very affordable for self-pay patients. For insured patients, coverage depends on your plan and deductible.

Can I come to your urgent care center if I live outside of Vernon?

Yes, of course. we see people from Rockville, Manchester, South Windsor, Ellington and Bolton, CT.
